Salted Brown Butter Rice Snack
Ingredients:
3 Ingredient Salted Brown Butter Rice Krispies 🧈 One of my favorite childhood snacks were Rice Krispies treats, so today I created an adult flavor version: lots of butter with a touch of sea salt. This recipe takes this kid snack to a whole other level!
Ingredients:
3-4 cups of crushed rice cakes (or rice cereal) **lightly salted
1 stick of butter
1 bag of marshmallows - I used @mydandies
Crush and break apart rice cakes until you have 2-4 cups, set aside. In a large pot, melt butter until it starts to foam and turns a light brown color. This is browned butter. You’ll notice when it’s done when the aroma becomes warm and nutty. Add the marshmallows and quickly stir until smooth and sticky. Add rice cakes and continue to stir. In a nonstick pan, add mixture and press down into the pan. You can oil the spoon or your fingers so it’s easier to work with! Let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to an hour. Sprinkle with a little sea salt. Cut and enjoy!
