Japanese Sweet Potatoes are a much healthier alternative to a traditional russet potato. It’s way more nutritious and loaded with essential vitamins and fiber. Its naturally sweet flavor and scent make it the perfect combination for a little spice and kick to any meal!
Ingredients:
2 Japanese sweet potatoes
2 tablespoons of unsalted butter
1/2 cup of raw organic honey
1 tablespoons of red pepper flakes
1 clove of garlic, minced
1 tablespoon of soy sauce
Optional: chili powder and ginger
Sesame seeds
Olive oil
Set oven to 500. Wash potatoes and cut them. In a baking sheet, line the potatoes evenly. Let them sit out for 10-15 to dry, this will give the potatoes a crispy edge. Drizzle with olive oil and toss with salt and paper. Bake for at least 40 minutes or until the potatoes are soft in the center. If your potatoes are thicker in slices, it’ll take about an hour.
Remove from the oven and let them cool for about 20 minutes. While they cool, make the honey sauce. In a large saucepan, melt butter. Add in honey, soy sauce, garlic, and chili flakes. Once it starts to bubble, it’s ready to pour over the potatoes. Toss the potatoes until it’s all fully covered and top with sesame seeds.
